At the moment I'm playing on Dragonblight. I have a 11th level Human Warrior named Dvan. Also have an account on Feathermoon but have not yet played said account.

To any of my friends that visit this site & want to hook up for some quests or something, gimme a shout. Post what server you play on n whatnot. Hopefully at least cray & myself will settle on a server that we're going to play on permanently. Then maybe we can work on sucking in some of the other Order folk... mwhahahahahaha...

Yes lure them to the dark side if you will. Since Soe wasn't bright enough to have the ability for you to download a bit at a time and not have to start over from ground zero every freaking time, I will be playing WoW until I find a way to get there freaking patches. But anyways, fine Dragonblight it is, I'll make a human rouge there. So look for Varada. Oh and whats with the no last names? Not that its really that big of a problem, but why the heck not?
We need to sucker someone into making a priest and maybe a mage or a palidin, but defenetly a priest. Not the the clone walks are that terrible or anything, but it would be nice to have a way to heal in battle none then less.

Ok server closed and I got to lvl 6. Don't know If I'll be on at all in the evening tomarrow ( guess its would be correct to say today, but what ever), girl friend wants to go out and do something. So who knows where that will end up( yes enter comment here eye :p ). But I'll try to get some time in the morning so you won't be toughting around so weak bitch. But with any luck I'll have lvl 10 and duel wield by tomarrow, atleast thats the plan.

Well, I found it fairly easy to level to ohh... about lvl 7-8ish and then it really slowed up a fair bit. I'm comfortable enough with the game now that if we moved over to one of the RP servers, I'd be cool with it... at least I know my way around now and what does what. I've played with a few mages & man... are they cool! Did a quest last night for... Boger or something like that (a lvl 11 or 12 monster 'elite' quest) & first time through we did it with 3 warriors and a paladin... or maybe it was 2 warriors and a paladin. First time through we beat him because I had a couple health potions on me and was taking & doing the brunt of the damage. One guy didnt get the loot, so we attempted a 2nd & third time with all of us dying. Well, later on... I ran into 2 mages that asked for some help with that quest so I obliged. The damn thing was a cakewalk. We had it done in no time flat. Much respect for that class... going to have to create one of them!

Girlfriend eh? Nothing but trouble them... Best of luck, LOL... least you'll hopefully get something out of the evening... if you know what I mean, mwhahahaha...

In other news... Im hoping to have my blizz/wow forum account working again soon. For some reason it lists me as "anonymous" and my server as "wow" with my icon being WOW Beta... not sure what all that is about, but I sent off an email last night to get it fixed. Kinda sux as I want to be able to post in the tech support section. Lots of other folk getting the error 131 & error 0... as well as random reboots. Hope to get in on some of that action. =)

Thats all for now,

eye

Lets stay on dragonblight for now, or atleast untill we can lure a couple more guys over. Then once we get a solid group of guy together switch to one of the RP servers and unleash havoc.

Yeah but the best combo being for groups has seemed to be a priest/ warrior/ mage. Atleast thats all I heard out of the beta players, with that combo you could take on the world, everyone else kinda gets the shaft.

Well, that's an IF we can lure some of the others over... Zib sounds like he wants to goto some tarq alliance thing on one of them thar crowded servers on the east coast. I know for me, Im not going to be playing on the east or central servers... ping isnt quite good enough and I dont care to deal with queues. There is a more heavily populated RP server here on the west coast tho... that might be fun to try out sometime. Going to stick with Dragonblight for the time being tho... I heard that Shamans are really powerfull too. I dunno, I want to play around with things a little bit more. If my buddy locally gets the game (gave him my trial account thing) then that'd be 3 folks at least. Personally I could give a shit about forming or joining a guild at this point... I just want to adventure and do quests with my friends and others I meet. Im enjoying the hell out of the game tho.

*edit* oh, they got my forum account fixed finally... Happened while I was at work 2night delivering pizzas... WOOT!!!

Yeah I'm on dail up until further notice so those east coast servers can lick my -Edit-. But yeah I really don't want to try and start or run another guild, to put it mildly "Fuck that shit!". If it happen down the road yeah what ever then, but for now I'm just enjoying being an adventurer and joining up with ppl as I need to for quests.
Need to figure out a time when we both can be on, more drunken hooligans stuff like the old days of the OG. Oh and I got a buddy at work I gave my ten day to, so we might have another adventuring compainion. I'll see if I can get him to go priest or mage. Would be nice to have a healer or the ranged god of death on our side.

Hehe... yeah... that'd be cool. Got my Warrior to level 12 last night and my mage is at level 5 or so... pretty much gives me some leeway in helping friends out with gaining levels n stuff. I won't be on very early 2night as I have to work, but thursday night I should hop on a fair bit earlier... Sunday I have to help grind some meat, so wont be around a whole hell of a lot then... but yeah, hopefully one of these nights we can hook up and adventure a bit.

Well late night drunkenhooliganess (Yes I'm making up words tonight, it 2am I don't care) But I work from 3pm to 11pm everyday except friday ( work the 7am to 3pm cause of school) and monday/tuesday ( yes those are my 2 days off) But tuesday I have school, so yeah I'm playing either late night or early morning for the most part now adays. I'm trying to get moved to graveyard so then I can play at night like all the other normal ppl, but I have to wait for the crack head on graveyard to finaly get fired or move or kill himself like he's been promissing us ( yeah I don't like the guy, so if he really did do it I wouldn't miss any sleep over it).
But anyways this isn't about WoW, so lets go back to WoW topics. Can I have 2 characters on the same realm Eye? Cause if I can I'll just start up a priest then, so I can change out between my assasin and a healer. Then we will have atleast the major three classes at our disposel. Oh My rouges at Lvl 12 now, might be thirteen if I ever stop writing these essays tonight. But I can also make bags if you need some ( went talior, and probably enchanter, the only two sub professions that you really don't have to take away from you fighting to do.) Oh and I can't remeber what it was, but I sent some weapon to you in the mail, if you can use it cool, if not get the 90 copper it was worth or what ever. Also Varada can make a robe that gives plus 1 to intelect if you want one made for your mage eye, just let me know.

Hahaha...I can see you talking about me now!

Now I'm confused on where to post. I guess I'll post here for WoW related topics, over there <points to crimson...> for SWG matters.

But, Re: my post over there about my WoW experience, probably won't be keeping my account. I'll keep the game and create an account later, but now I wasn't "wow'ed" enough to justify another $15/mo dealy.

That, and it sounds like I'll never be on the same time as you all seeing as when Cray get's home from work it'll be 2AM my time. :( I'm already 4 hours ahead of Eye.

Well, Im on quite a bit earlier on Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays as I don't have to work my second job those nights. Im also on at a decent hour (for the most part) saturday nights... and then there is sunday which is typically a "free" day. Havent seen much of Cray yet, but thats because of differing work schedules... that and I just got the game last saturday. I have hooked up with some local friends on a couple of occasions, but thats mostly because we "set it up" before getting off work.

I have 2 characters on Dragonblight & I think the limit is 3 total per realm (nice not to have the SCS thing that SOE did). Zib, I added your character to my friends list on both characters, so I'll be able to see when you're online. My mage is level 5 & my warrior is level 12 (almost 13).

I suppose its somewhat difficult to nail down exactly what it is that I like about WoW... I tell you one thing I really do like is I never feel like I'm grinding. In fact, I haven't really done much of any of that at all yet. The area I am in at the moment, however... going to take at least 2 to survive there I think (at least 2 at my warrior's level). For me, the game is immersive & really becomes fun when you start getting into the quests and unraveling some of the plots. I never really got out of the newbie area until level 6ish... and while I still found that fun its just not the same. The world opens up once you're out of there. It's very easy to join up with other folks to go do a quest. I see requests n whatnot for it every night & have done that a number of times myself. I guess I not only like all the choices for things to do & the goal oriented quest system (JtL starts to do some of that... but I wish it did a hell of a lot more of it)... I dunno, I just get sucked in & find it a very satisfying and fun game to play.

As far as guilds go... I know Im not interested in either joining one or forming one at this point. It would be nice, in some respects, to be able to easily communicate with all of my friends & whatnot, but... I dont want to feel compelled to level or any of that crap. I just want to be able to enjoy the game.

Hopefully we'll all be able to hook up some night/day and play before your free month is up. I've still got JtL to work on myself... so still want to log in to galaxies to do that... I rarely see or hook up with anyone in SWG anymore... so I suppose that's another thing I like about WoW is how easy it is to join up with folks. Not a night has gone by that I havent grouped with someone... I dunno, guess all I can say zib is... give your month a try (you've paid for it).

Oh, almost forgot myself... if you can make some bags, that'd be sweet. I keep hanging onto linen hoping to trade it for some bags. Think I've got like, 25 bits of the stuff now, maybe more... don't recall. I found one bag with the warrior, so I have my backpack & the one bag, but it would be nice to have more. They want a freakin arm n a leg for em from the vendors (and I dont see to many ppl offering them up for trade that often). If you could craft some for me, that'd be sweet. Warrior = Dvan, Mage = Jalian. The cloak with plus to intellect would be groovy too. =)

Got your mail last night. Dunno how or why, but I just so happened to click on my mailbox and there it was. I was like, what the hell? Didnt look at it very long as I was headed to the inn to logout... will have a gander at it this evening. Still, pretty cool you can send items through the mail. YET ANOTHER THING I wish SWG had. I should start making a list of things I wish SWG had that WoW does.

12-02-2004, 12:05 PM
Another thing I like about WoW versus SWG... your forum accounts are not only linked to your regular account... but you post with a character name & picture. Not only that, it says your level... and no post counts displayed. I feel like WoW keeps the focus on the game, whereas SWG has a split personality of forums & game. Perhaps its minor... but just one other thing I wish SWG did... or did better than it does.

Cray
12-03-2004, 04:14 AM
So I can have 2 or more characters per server, sweet I'll hook up a priest then. But yeah if you want Eye send me the linen you got and I'll send 3 bags for your warrior and how many I can after I make that robe for your mage. There six slot bags for now, need about 20 or so more experiance in talioring to become a journyman, so It might be a bit before I can craft some of the bigger bags.

Why I like WoW besides I've been a big warcraft fan since the first one, is because atleast to me The grind isn't there. I like running around finding quests over killing mob A fifty million times to master what ever like SWG. Oh and if you haven't tried all the emotes yet, your missing out. Try /dance for starters, then theres /v silly or how ever you spell it. I would have to say the dwarves have the best joke so far that I have heard. Oh /v flirt has some funny crap in it too. In fact I think my priest will be a dwarf, just be cause He's a social drinker, when someone asks for a drink He says So shall I. Anyways I got work in 4 hours ( I HATE FRIDAYS!!!) so I'll be back tommarrow night with more idiocy.

Oh and welcome To the DarKside Zib :p

Oh and before you say your done Zib, take a trip to Stormwind first. You can't imagin how big this freaking world really is.

Zib
12-03-2004, 07:40 AM
I think I started in Stormwind? Wherever a human pal begins. I wandered around that church and mine thingy in the noob area.

Eh, prob won't be on too much. Plus side, I suppose, is that you can just jump right in and not worry about buffs, from what I can tell. Played SWG last night and had a blast for a change. Dueled a Jedi, killed some marauders with Nued and others, moved out of AVM.

eyelleye
12-03-2004, 01:03 PM
Well, you started outside stormwind. Once you travel out of the newb area, you'll head to goldstone or something like that. There the path splits a bit (read the road signs) and you can take the road to Stormwind. It's a big city, kinda hard to miss.

Hehe...the TL has pissed me off, officially. Their leader (Siddalee?) got a little petty with me on the SW forums. So, I got petty back. I had a thread out there saying that I tested the wow waters, and they weren't for me type of a deal. Someone responded with a /pet response which I didn't know if it was insulting or otherwise so I replied with a smarta$$ quote from shrek 1. The post kinda degraded from there.

At first I kinda liked the idea of joining up with the PvP group but was quickly reminded of how much of a bad idea that was. When I saw that Grylum was at level 37 after what, a week of release? I quickly realized that my casual approach I was planning to take to WoW would not be welcome.

I did chat with one of them for a bit, Rontor Zigg or something was his SWG name. He seemed pretty cool. But, to your point, one good apple in a bad bunch does not a good bunch make. er...something like that...

eyelleye
12-08-2004, 11:13 AM
Well... some of them are probably pretty cool folks, but their attitude on just that WoW faces site is enough to turn me off. I dunno, but Im not real big on guilds that have the attitude of "we're going to pwn this server" n all of that. Just not my cup of tea I guess. I suppose that if they want to power level themselves into oblivion... well, by all means. For me, I enjoy my slow pace. I like to be able to log in for an hour or two maybe during the week & accomplish something, be it a quest or a level or whatever.

I did that last night. Only managed to play for maybe an hour (if that) but finished one quest & got my mage to level 11. I wanted to play longer, but the hour was getting late & I felt comfortable just calling it a night. I read the review of WoW on gamespy last night & found it to be probably the most spot-on review I've read yet. It didn't spare any punches when talking about some of the launch issues... and it totally got all of the games strong points. Also read an article in Computer Games last night about reality versus realism in games (graphics mostly). Was pretty interesting for an abstract article and helped to remind me of what I do like about the cartoony environment of WoW. I'll have to dig it up tonight and post a couple of quotes from it... makes for interesting food for thought at the very least.

*edit forgot to update on my chars*

WoW quest = SWG mission?

Pretty much, but at least Im actually good at WoW... SWG on the other hand... Of course, there's a hell of a lot more story to the WoW quests... that sort of immersive experience SWG strives for and fails misserably at delivering, imho. '-)

You didn't hit 15 yet with Dvan? You must be playing as much as I have been Eye. But to answer your question Zib WoW Quests= SWG themepark missions would be closer to the fact. Theres a bit of a story behind each quest you do, enough to keep me interested anyways.
Oh good news! I got put on graveyard shift so I can play at night like every other normal person. So when you guys come over from SWG, expect to see a bit more of me.

And guess I'll finish this up by updating my guys Info.

Well, on weeknights, when Im not working, I play for a few hours... so like tonight, I'll be on at around 5-6ish my time til probably 10-11 or so... but, on nights I work, like last night, I might manage .5-1hr of play time... or, in the case of last night, not at all. Just works out that way somedays. Generally speaking, at the moment Im more playing my mage than my warrior. Its a touch easier to solo... but thats probably due in part to that character being a lower level... dunno. Going to play my warrior a bit tonight. Did some reading on talents day before yesterday that might... hmmm... assist me in figuring that bit out... which, in turn, might make it a bit easier to solo stuff. I dunno tho... dont really care either. I just log in and enjoy my time spent in that game.

Zib
12-09-2004, 01:49 PM
You guys mind having a level 4 noob paladin tag along? Your play window of 5-10 snowbird time matches up pretty well with my window of 9-11 cornfield time. Wife and kids depending, of course.

You all still need to show me what I'm missing. :) You're talking dragonblight, right?

I guess my issue is that I don't feel like being sociable with anyone else. Willel is a grumpy, balding hermit.

eyelleye
12-09-2004, 02:14 PM
Well, twould be best to group with similar level characters... if the range between the characters is too great in a group, you wont get any exp... I cant imagine my mage is too far along but I dunno. No biggie for me to make a new character either... I still have other things I wanna try out.

I think cray is playing a dwarf... which should mean he should be able to take the tram that runs between Stormwind and Ironforge...

Of course, before your free month is up Zib, we really should take you to at least see Stormwind and take the tram to Ironforge. Pretty cool to see imho.

As far as not being sociable with other folks... sometimes I am, sometimes Im not. Mostly I solo, unless someone else invites me to accomplish a quest. Thats one thing that IS kinda nice... I dunno how many times Ive been working on a particular quest that kicks my ass solo & someone else is doing the same thing so we group up to do the quest & then disband and go our merry ways. I really like the freedom to just do that, yanno? I dont feel attached to groups at all (cept when Cray and I have grouped up, but thats a bit different).

Oh zib... also next time you play, make sure to do a "/v silly" without the quotes. Your character will tell a joke... some of em are pretty damn funny, imho.

Anyways, I know we'd enjoy having yah tag along. I plan on being on 2night... and it sounds like cray's work schedule is finally getting somewhat normalized. '-)

Sounds like I need to crank some levels though. :-/

Gotta find something besides candle-headed miner dudes.

eyelleye
12-09-2004, 07:46 PM
ROTFL... well, the trick to gaining exp is not to grind. I had to learn that the hard way in the first stress test (where I grinded stuff, much to my dismay)... I have learned now that its much better to just accept all the quests you can and do those a bit here and a bit there... you get a fair bit of exp just by completing the quest... which in turn makes it easier to level.

Zib
12-10-2004, 07:19 AM

I popped on for a little while and killed more miner thingys, got to level 5, then did a bit of wandering through Goldshire and Stormwind.

Ahh.. you musta left before I got on at about 530ish my time. I played for a few hours til around 8 or so... then watched a bit of tv. Was a pretty fun night actually. Hooked up with this one character... Mira I think, was a paladin. Just me (mage) and the paladin took out Hogger. We'd managed to get him seperated from his group and so I just kept hurling spells at him and the paladin kept healin me. I so woulda died without that healing... but, it was sweet... took that biznatch out & we both got the quest. Had fun chiding folks in general chat too... seemed like a bunch of morons on last night (like some fellah named craphead... whats up with that?). All in all... twas a fun evening! I'll be on again 2night at roughly the same time or so.

Ohhh... and I get it... drop the hammer... LOL

Zib
12-10-2004, 12:14 PM
Lol, I think that's when I logged. 930ish my time. I was kinda itching to get into SWG and get Aessena started toward Commando so I popped off and logged her and Eeka. (Going for a commando/fencer deal...works with 4 SP left) I popped on Zib to check email and whatnot, but the Beech clan, Bonian, and others were messing around in chat. Got to chatting and forgot to log back into WoW. :o

I did notice that I got the small XP bonus for being "rested" even tho I logged in the newb area. This time I made sure to log in an inn in Stormwind (those signposts are neat...I wish the cities/planets in SWG were like that to make it feel like an organized civilization and not isolated population centers...anyway) so I can get the double XP bonus. Either way, it was pretty sweet. Helped level 5 come very quickly.

Speaking of, is that double bonus determined by the number of mobs you kill or is it time based?

Also, the warlock spells, fireballs and whatnot, at least the noobish ones, look really neat. But, I couldn't bring myself to go that route. Lol, I think a later "prof" is demon? Hehe...not me. I think the Paladin is more my speed. The "good guy". :D

Zib
12-10-2004, 12:15 PM
Oh, quick question...what is "Holy damage"?

eyelleye
12-10-2004, 02:40 PM
Well, as far as the resting bit is concerned... its time based. The longer you are logged out in an inn, the longer you get the following day. Mine typically lasts 20-30 min I think... I just continue to focus on whatever quest it is Im doing and go about my merry way.

Not sure about the Holy Damage thing... will have to look that up. I did manage to find something that might be usefull to ye... Im a gamespot complete member & they have a WoW guide out now, so I'll cut what might be a usefull snippit of info for yah:

Paladin

Pros

* Can wear the heaviest armor in the game and can act as a secondary tank.
* Combines the health of a warrior with healing abilities and useful buffs.

Cons

* Lower damage than a warrior.
* Can’t control aggro very well, at least when compared to warriors.

Paladins are, along with warriors, going to be the primary tanks in any group; they can use the heaviest armor and get more HP than almost any other class. Where paladins differ from warriors, though, is in their secondary skills. While warriors are almost entirely focused on dishing out pain and controlling aggro on enemies during combat, paladin skills are generally more focused towards becoming a secondary healer and buffer, with things like seals and auras that can significantly increase the power level of your other party members. In addition, paladins are well-known as smiters of undead, whether they be mobs or Undead PCs from the Horde, and they have a few spells that give them quite a bit of power against these kinds of enemies.

One of the unique aspects of the paladin is the way that he can cast buffs on himself, then discharge these buffs onto enemies with his Judgement skill. You’ll notice that many of the Seal powers have rather longwinded in-game descriptions; this is because they all have both a positive effect when cast on the paladin, then have a secondary effect when they’re discharged onto an enemy with Judgement. Although this appears to be a bit confusing at first, it doesn’t take too long to get a handle on the basic mechanics, which consists of: cast a Seal on yourself; cast Judgement to transfer the Seal onto your target (which erases the Seal from the paladin); then recast the Seal (or another Seal of your choice) onto yourself.

World of Warcraftscreenshot
If you don’t have a warrior, then a paladin can make a decent tank with their threat-management Blessings.

For example, let’s take the Seal of Light. This Seal, when cast on a paladin, allows you to have a chance to heal yourself for some amount of HP each time you hit an enemy. When you use Judgement, though, your Seal of Light cast on yourself becomes a Judgement of Light spell cast on your targeted enemy, which will allow any attacker to have a chance to gain life when they strike, although the amount of life gain will be lower. For instance, you might cast Seal of Light on yourself, which will let you gain a chance to gain 75 health each time you hit any enemy; if you use Judgement to transfer this ability over to an enemy, though, all of your party members that are using melee abilities will have a chance to gain 50 health each time they strike that particular enemy. Sound confusing? It sort of is, to be honest with you; it takes a bit of gameplay experience to get a handle for how it works.

What makes Seals and Judgements fairly useful is when you consider the fact that you can combine them in a few different ways. For example, if you cast Judgement of Light on an enemy, you’ll have something like a 20% chance to gain back health with each hit. If you then cast Seal of Righteousness on yourself, though, you’ll also gain a chance to deal extra Holy damage each time you land a blow, giving you a chance to gain health, deal extra damage, or both, each time you attack. Seal of Righteousness also goes well with Judgement of the Crusader, which increases damage dealt by Holy sources for 30 seconds.

Since you can shift around your Seals and Judgements as you like, Paladins can be quite flexible in combat, using something like Seal of Righteousness and Judgement of the Crusader (perhaps combined with the Sanctity Aura talent) when you want to deal a lot of damage, or switching over to Seal and Judgement of Light when you’re looking to get some healing going on.

In addition to these powers, though, you also have access to Auras, which are free, permanent buffs that will affect the paladin and all nearby party members. Some examples of this are Devotion Aura, which increases the armor of all nearby allies, and Retribution Aura, which will reflect Holy damage back onto any enemy that strikes yourself or an enemy. You also have access to Blessings, which are short-term buffs (usually on the order of five minutes or so) that can be cast on any party member.

Solo PVE Technique

For soloing monsters, there isn’t a whole lot to do except Seal yourself, use Judgement, use another Seal, then attack until the monster’s dead. Unfortunately, the experience of playing a paladin isn’t terrifically interactive; you really only have your primary attack skill to use against the enemy, with very few other ways to directly damage them. Thus, well, being a paladin can be kind of boring, especially in the early levels, before you gain access to a good variety of Seals and the Judgement spell at level 10.

That said, you have enough defensive and healing spells to make it almost impossible for you to die against most mobs your level. If you get into trouble, you can start running; if you’re almost out of life, try using Blessing of Protection. If that runs out, try using Divine Favor or Divine Shield. If that runs out, then Lay On Hands will get you automatically back to 100% health. So, if something wants to kill you, it’ll have to knock you almost to the bottom of your health bar, wait at least ten seconds for Divine Favor and Blessing of Protection to run out, then kill off a whole other health bar from Lay On Hands. (These don’t necessarily have to be used just to run away, of course; they’ll make almost any mob four or five levels above you killable if you have them all charged up before the fight begins.)

>>> Thus, well, being a paladin can be kind of boring, especially in the early levels, before you gain access to a good variety of Seals and the Judgement spell at level 10. <<<

Doh! Looks like herein lies my problem!

Thanks for the info. Was good to see what this class is used for. I was kinda trying to figure that out. I did train in a skill that did something to "friendly" parties. Lol, can't remember what the heck it was, though.

Hehe... Yeah, I was reading through that trying to find the Holy Damage bit and ran across that particular quote... and I pretty much came to the same conclusion which is why I thought it might be useful to post that bit of info. I'll send you some additional info in a PM... might be useful but I dont want to post it here.

Yeah Zib you don't even get your first real ability till lvl 10. Ah I should be on saturday night till 930 or 10 pm, so I can help you "power Level" if you want. I like in this game if you power lvl it ussualy means your fighting creatures 3 to 4 more lvls above you, But don't try and fight something over 5 Lvls more then you, cause it will evade everyone of you strikes.
But I can honestly say I was to drunk to play WoW last night, but still managed to Get my Rouge to Lvl 15 ;)
Oh and to answer your question Zib, its like SWg where you have energy/heat/cold/lightsaber ect... Diffrent types of damage that you spells do, some will do fire/cold/electricity ect. and Holy and Shadow. And just like SWG you can get things to resist this stuff and certian mobs have resists to certian types of damage as well.
Hope that made some sence

Zib, you may also want to have a look at the WoW Paladin Forums... I know its not as nicely organized as the mage forums, but its still searchable (hint hint): http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.aspx?fn=wow-paladin

Also, here is Blizz's page on Paladins & what the skills are n such:

I'll post other things as I run across them.

Cray... just read on the official forums that the max characters per server is 10, with 50 characters the limit gamewide... DAYUM... now if that aint some sweetness, I dunno what is! I thought I was limited to 3 per server. W00T!!!

Cray
12-13-2004, 03:05 PM
Your kidding right? 10 characters per server? Shit we can forum our own guild with just you and me ( NO!!! I don't want to, just saying we could, not ready to go down that road agian). I'll go test that theory out right now. atleast I don't have to change servers to lissen to all the jokes the diffrent races tell now.

ROTFL...

Nah... I like playing alliance characters. I did create an undead warlock for kicks the other day tho. btw, the dances are different between male & female characters as well... need an undead male to do the headbanger thing, but its pretty cool. I played Imperial chars in SWG because Ive always dug them in the movies n such. I see things other than what most ppl see tho... Most only look skin deep at Imps, whereas I probably take more of the "troops" line of thinking... hard to explain. In a standard MMO tho, Im more apt to just do what character line I fit/like best.

Not ready to do a guild of just ourselves yet either... blah! If I joined or did a guild again, would wanna be with individuals... but so far, I havent found anyone other than mah homies from swg Id want to guild with. The couple of others that were fun to group with I never see online anymore.

Cray
12-14-2004, 08:16 AM
Ah the funny thing is durring the stress test I was an undead. But eye wanted to go alliance and I couldn't bring myself to play anything small and retarded looking (gnomes) or purple ( color of royalty my ass, the night elves need help). So thats why I went human. Had to get a dwarf too after a night of running around with one and all his lovly jokes about drinking.

So the big question Zib, feel any better about WoW after getting to Lvl 8 last night? If you don't even get your good stuff till lvl ten, after last night I can't wait to see them.

Just to keep the charts updated
Varada- Rouge- Lvl 16 (or 17, I forget which)
Hagen- Priest- Lvl 11

Oh anyone have any ideas about how to acumulate some coins in the game? I'm ending up the same way I did in SWG, BROKE! So anyone got any ideas?

Zib
12-14-2004, 08:28 AM
Hehe...I'm rich compared to where I used to be. I have almost 6 silver. woot!

Yeah, you buggers are going to get me addicted to Wow, then I'll have a personal crisis on my hands. SWG? Wow? SWG? Wow?

I am finding myself thinking about "that next level" now. Lol. Shoot, I was even reading about PvP, and with the whole honor system thing, it's sounding kinda cool.

Being able to equip that Priest's mace thingy (did I loot that or did one of you get it for me?) helped alot. 6.5 damage per min or something. Feels much better to see the #'s above the heads in the 30-40 range rather than 10-20. Ditching the cartoonishly oversized hammer helped immensely.

Trained up in all of my secondary abilities that I could last night so hopefully I can be of a little more use to you. The only downside is that I can only quest with Hagen due to my still low level. :(

Only thing, Wow isn't as conducive to dual monitor play than SWG. I loved the /follow deal.

Anyhow, FINALLY almost able to leave. Goddum lawyers.

That was just a regular cooper mace Zib, the bottom rung on what a blacksmith can make. Ah blacksmithing takes time to build up xp in ( actualy finding the reasources is the time consuming thing atm, thats why we would head off in strange directions every once and a while last night Zib).
Yeah but if your not familiar with the Lore Zib, read it off the WoW site. This world has as much story as Star Wars, just not the atachment to our fonder years.
Speaking of leaving 06:56... come on 07...

Zib... careful about what you read about the Honor system in the manual. Their thoughts on that have apparently changed since that was printed. There used to be a sticky post in the general forum on the wow site talking about some of the things they are now thinking about.

I suppose thats one thing I do like about the SWG devs versus the WoW devs... generally speaking, we know what the SWG devs are up to as they are fairly open about it. WoW on the other hand is a pretty closed shop... more reminicient of a lot of other MMOs. Hopefully given time, communication from them will improve... but its not really in the culture of Blizzard as a whole, so I don't expect to see a lot of dev posts or that sort of thing.

Zib, I gave yah a priests mace I found the other day... dunno if thats the one you used or not... you may have looted one too. Once you hit level 10 tho, things just really start to pick-up. At level 10 is when you get to start picking your talents... I know whatcha mean about seein bigger numbers over their heads. Ive seen a few fireball spell hits in the last couple days over 100+... thats been pretty cool.

Before too long you'll be on their trying to finish a quest or gain another level every other night. I usually try to do at least one quest a night... or gain this or that... one of the things I like about WoW is that I always feel like Im making some sort of progress, which is pretty cool. Galaxies feels like a never-ending grind to me, where Im never making progress... and I just dont feel that way with WoW.

Cray

Just went into the Defias Base today, talk about a fight. It was me a lvl 22 palidin, a lvl 20 priest and another lvl 20 palidin.. or warrior not sure which. So its the 4 of us go charging in there. Insanity breaks out, I know Lvl 17 elites really aren't that big or bad compaired to some of the other stuff out there, but these things would come out of the wood work in there. We'd kill one with a squad of just regular lvl 17 or 18 in tow, and 2 more elites would show up with re enforcements. It was fun but I ain't going back in there till I atleast get to LvL 20+ with Varada.
Oh will you guys be on later today? I'll need some help with a escort from Sentinal Hill to the Defias base. Just need another body or two to help with crowed contral so I can get this tratior to the base to complete the mission.
Ah don't know if your palidin could handle the mobs there Zib, so if you want to come along I'll level you up some more with hagen before I try to get this and the next mission done.
I got to do some more Leveling, I let my brother use on of the character slots on Dragonblight, now he has like a lvl 20 warrior. And of coarse he rubs it in my face..... Just cause I got thinks like work/school/girlfriend and he sits on his fat ass all day and plays my freaking game, he thinks he's better then me. Well I've been told to stop beating him up so I have to either surpass him in Lvls or move out. Unfortunatly the second one isn't an option atm with the hollidays and the thing after school in the sentence above.
Anyways enough rambling from me... It's 320 am, almost halfway done with work....yipppee...

Varada LvL 17 (I'm sure this time)
Hagen Lvl 11

Oh one last thought, is there anything else we really need? Hagens got minning and Blacksmithing, Varadas got talioring and enchanting. Forget what you said Jilian has besides talioring, and anything Dvan has. So is there any secondary skills we could use. Got a night elf thats going to be a druid, so I figuared i could use him as another support charater, but don't know what to get him working towards.

Hmmm...my WoW dreams have been hampered somewhat by playing with my toons on Infinity. I created a toon and ravaged the Corellian prairie. The new toon learning 2H, Sadac keeping it alive with stimmage. I kinda had forgotten about how much fun SWG could be in its unbuffed and unarmored state. Kinda like the old days...

But, not to /hijack a WoW thread with SWG stuff, I see a problem developing. I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to be on as much as you guys hence my L8 guy is going to be left in your dust. That is, unless you want to make one of your chars to be devoted as my crutch. :(

Bothans are NOT retarded. I consider that comment an affront to my masculinity, femininity and nuetrolinity all in one. I challenge you to the THUNDERDOME!!!! TWO GO IN ONE COMES OUT BITCH!

anyway so what are you supposed to do after 60? I remeber in AO they capped at 50 or so then 80 then 100 then 140 etc I was reading that people are already lvl 60- thats crazy. Usually them games are designed to level fast at first (to hook you) then REALLLY slow down (like levelling from 1 to 20 taking the same amount of time as 40 to 41) is it not like that as much in WOW?

I saw I met the system requirements for WOW but with my GMT +523 time zone I'd still only be able to play with those w/o jobs in US and damn foreigners :(

Not surprised some folks are already lvl 60... there are children out there with no lives to speak of... failing in school n all... no matter the MMO, someone will always powergame it. WoW has less in the way of timesinks, so... in part you'll level faster simply because they designed the game more for folks like me... only an hour or two a day to spare to go have fun. Then again, Im at a part in the game where all I do is get my ass kicked if Im solo, so...

As far as secondaries go... I could use a miner/blacksmith... Warriors need good armor to stay alive, the tanks that we are.

Cray
12-16-2004, 11:33 AM
They let you take Pictures in the Stan? THats BS!!!! We took cameras with us but they made us lock them away the minute we touched ground. The only reason I got a couple of pictures back from there was.... ah nm thats not important.

But anyways back to what to do after LvL 60. There are plenty of monsters and areas to go out there and fight in even after LvL 60. Just because the players lvl cap is 60 doesn't mean the monsters lvl cap is. The highest Npc I've seen so far would have to be the general of Stormwind a LvL 62 elite. But theres also a bishop or something like that in stormwind that doesn't even have a number associated with him, he's that high. So even after your done questing and reach Lvl 60, there plenty of crap out there thats tougher then you and will give you a run for your money.
Oh and no it is designed to lvl fast in the begining and slower as you move up the later, I think my last Lvl cost me 16000 xp and the next one is 20 k or so. There are just ppl that have no freaking life at all and probably be leaving the game in a month or two. Also, so you get one character up to LvL 60, you can have ten guys on a server with a total of 50 altogether. So you get one done just switch to a new one.

So, don't compromise your Hagen levelling for me. I'm still a casual at best WoW'er. But, I've enough invested in ole' Willel to allow the account to rebill next month.

Kind of annoying that it won't let you group up productively if your levels differ too much. Cap the XP at the max you would get for something you could reasonably kill at your level, but to penalize everyone's XP? Makes me a sad Willel.

That, and no XP for using spells on peeps to heal while in combat? Makes me a sad Willel, too.

Well... the blizzard patcher is somewhat of a joke on the first day... was my experience in the beta thing too. I ended up downloading the actual bittorrent app & then clicked on a link someone posted in the official forums (not a blizz rep mind you)... after that took all of 5 min to download the 40mb patch.

On dialup, it may or may not make a diff for you Cray... but, if you're still having problems, that's my recomendation.

Cray
12-22-2004, 12:08 PM
Oh I got another question. Any Idea if blizzard has a way to seperate characters on one account to another? Planing on either building my younger brother a comp or finding one some where thats CHEAP!!! and will meet the requirements to play WoW. Planing on upgrading my machine so it shouldn't be to difficult to get another running one out of the parts I'm changing out. So Once I do that I can get him the hell off my computer. But he won't go willingly unless I can seperate his orc from my account to an account he starts up, once I get said comp built. Just currious if bliz had a way to do this atm.

eyelleye
12-22-2004, 04:31 PM
Short answer to your question is... NOPE.

He'll need to get his own account and start over. Hell, SWG has been around for quite a bit longer and THEY dont have this ability... dont think EQ does either... basically, I dont know of any MMO that does off hand, tho I could be wrong. Pretty much when he gets his own account he'll have to start over. Its a bitch, but hey... his own fault if he wanted to piggy-back on your account...

Either that, or make him pay you some money for YOU to get a new account... but then again, you bought the collectors edition... so I'd say he should get his own account. In fact, he could get it NOW... and then just use his account on your computer until such time as you can build him a new one. In fact, this is probably what I would advise... before he has to much time invested. It will be easier for him to do the quests the 2nd time around... esp the lower level ones... its kinda a bitch of a situation, but thats kinda the boat you're in.

Zib
12-23-2004, 07:56 AM
I think you can move chars between accounts on SWG, but it costs $60. /shrug LOL, not that it matters for Cray's predicament. :D

BTW, is this Barfus or another brother?

Zib
12-23-2004, 08:03 AM
Just checked, and $60 it is.

Also, I noted the following in the terms:

"It is highly recommended that you do not give away or destroy existing items upon requesting a transfer, as it is possible that your move request may be denied. Items deleted or given away in anticipation of a future move will not be replaced. "

I've read this at least 5 times trying to figure out what the bfd is behind this? For instance, if I wanted to move one of my chars to another galaxy, I'd sure as hell want to move all of their creds, items, and whatnot that I've worked so long to attain to my other character.

/shrug at SOE.

Hmm... wasnt aware that they had added that capability... Still, Im pretty sure WoW doesnt have that ability now and therefore I revert back to my original statement. Better to have yah brother get his own account now versus waiting til later.

Ohhh... and in case y'all still aint got the current WoW patch, check www.fileplanet.com as they are now hosting patches... or at least the current patch. You don't even have to be a subscriber to get it. =)

Oh, btw... this is yet another thing that impresses me about Blizzard. When their systems are hosed for a lengthy period of time... the credit our accounts:

Trial Period Extension
During the holiday season, World of Warcraft has experienced unprecedented popularity. We're continuing to ramp up server capacity, but in the meantime, we've seen some issues in regard to the game servers as a direct result of the extremely high traffic. Specifically, on December 22, many players were unable to access the game for approximately seven hours.

In our efforts to provide the best game experience possible, we will address this issue by automatically extending the trial period of all players who created an account on or before December 22 (11:59 PM PST) for an additional day. This will be in addition to the extension awarded previously.

We recognize that the holidays are an opportune time for gaming, and we're grateful that so many players have made World of Warcraft their game of choice this holiday season. As always, we appreciate your patience and support, and we wish you good luck in your adventures in Azeroth!

Well on to happier news, since I've been on the brink of death the last couple of days (Should of listed this on why I love work instead of the xmas title on CS.com) haven't been playing much. But I got to Lvl 20 and am preaty much stuck unless I get some backup.
All quests I'm picking up at this point are either elite quest that they say I can do (guess they figure I'd have a group to run around with by now) or are quests that show up in red. Freaking the Lvl 20 quests for rouges I have to first beat a lvl 24 mob, that takes me out in 2 hits, then after that I have to try to sneak my way through this tower full of lvl 24 mobs to get into this treasure chest. So basicaly I'm screwed unless I can get a beat down squad and just tear the place a new one. Cause there is no freaking way at lvl 20 that I'd be able to do this.
Oh and I love how they fixed rouges skill cost but strangly enough there still expencive as hell, maybe its just me but these missions don't pay enough to keep trained up.
And one final question, any Idea where a trainer is that teaches talioring skematics from 75 to 150? They got a journyman trainer in StormWind and an Artisen trainer.... but nothing in between. I've checked the Bliz boards but still am not able to find a trainer between journyman and artisen, so if you track one down let me know.

Welcome to my world cray... LOL. Granted, Im only lvl 19 on ye ole mage here, but thats the way a lot of my quests are these days. My warrior quests have started down that difficult road at lvl 16 or wherever Dvan is atm. Ive read mages are powerful at the begining then start slacking off later down the line when everyone else picks up. Not sure I really care tho at the moment... Im still able to log in every so often and have fun... tho after a few levels of not dying much... well, that bits over. =) Im off questing in the red hills or something for the time being. My next westfall quest is to escort some lamer into the den of theives to find out where some baddie is hiding. Not too sure where that bastard is going to go, but Im doubtful I can do the escort alone... so trying some other quests. 'tis fun tho... I just need to remember to go back n play my warrior... then again, if I wait long enough, Zib will have caught up to me... heheh...

Ahh well, hope y'all had a merry christmas.

Well the plague I have seems to be subsiding so things are looking up. Yeah the westfall quest you have to escort that tratior threw moonshire. This is a quest you can do alone, you just need to let his crazy ass engage the Thugs there, and he will fight everyone he runs into. This one does help to have others with you just providing back up, but not nessisary, especialy at lvl 19 or 20.
Yeah I read up on my poisen quest, yeah going to just be going around killing stuff till I hit lvl 22 or 23. Apparently thats when the quest can acctualy be done.

LOL... dude... just come over to redridge with me for a bit.. Im takin a break... lots of sub-lvl 20 quests here.. well, maybe not LOTS, but several. I managed to get Jalian up to lvl 20 2night.. but dont have enough moolah for all the skills like. Also am able to make 8 slot bags now (bought that skill too)... but ran out of wool. Overall, a productive night I must say. Now its time to pass out for a few hours til I goto work... no need bein all liquored up on the job n all... that'll come afettr next weekend!!!

hehe... until then, keep it REAL y'all

Liquared up on the job, hell I got a flask for Xmas. The nice thing about being on graveyard I guess is whos going to be around to say I can't.... Oh thats right not a single person. And if there is some one I just inform them they have to leave and charge them with criminal tresspassing. But yeah Guess this doesn't have much to do with WoW now does it.
Almost got Lvl 21 last night, probably heading back to RedRidge today since the mission lvls just jumped on me. But I got enough coin atm to train in some crap agian so it was a productive visit to what ever bay I'm at.

A flask eh? Well what a nice gift to get!

Deff recommend checking out red-ridge. Im planning on heading back there this evening... gotta go make some money to buy my last skill til 22 (think its only one more... memory is a little hazy from last night). Im lookin forward to level 21, as I know where I wanna put my talent point... bout halfway there I think, so not too shabby. I need to log back on Dvan one of these days and skinn some sheep...

Oh, I got some silk cloth last night... imagine that'll be handy at some point.

Cray
12-28-2004, 01:54 AM
Yeah fuck that Orc axe quest, spent 2 hours on it today and only got 5 axes. It was like a 1 in 5 drop rate. Oh and those elites guarding the tower and what ever that keep is I guess, yeah fuck them too. Deffinetly going to need back up to finish the axes and the shadowpendent quest. But atleast I'm halfway to lvl 22 now.
Oh strange thing today, I actualy had ppl trying to invite me to groups, not like usual when I'll be in an area with another group and they get tierd of me taking all the kills so they invite me. Ppl just blindly trying to grab me up for what ever crap they were doing. Had to log both times it happened but what ever right.

Back on the talior subject. I picked up the red woolen bag skem last night too, but my question is are the only skems for talior between 75 and 120 ( I think thats when you can get expert from an artisen talior) ones that have to be purchased off vendors?
Also on the craftinbg front, aparently I can't reach 45 in enchanting by disenchanting stuff anymore, or maybe its cause the server was laggy and just didn't record the point for disenchanting the green thing today. Not sure, but if anyone needs a plus 5 to health on there bracers or chest piece let me know.

Oh one last thing, in the wet lands theres a quest for a ten slot bag. I'm not sure if you keep the bag after words and not finish the quest, but the quest is worth 38 silver at any rate. Once you get your mage on, we might want to hea over there to get it done. The mobs we have to kill are lvl 23-25 black ozzes, they got a mean poisen attack, but nothing else besides that (atleast the couple times I tried it they didn't have any other type of attack, besides there standard meele which hits from 30-50 damage per hit).

Cray
12-28-2004, 07:52 AM
Yes I'm am just doing this to increase post count :p . That and the Sups in the shiter so I can't leave dispatch yet. But anyways, I need to start either killing mobs that drop some serrious coin or start taking on some higher paying quests. Got Lvl 21 and about halfway to lvl 22. Lvl 22 is where I start getting some of the nice rouge abilities Like vanish and distract. Problem is they both cost around 30 silver and I'm going to need these skills if I want to get the poisen quest done. So what to do, start whoring myelf out (not likly since even in WoW I'm an ugly Mofo, why do you think I wear the bandana). Start taking on Lvl 25 and up mobs ( yeah can alread tell you how that will turn out  ) Or start beating up on the low lvl mobs nickling and diming my way there. OR!!!!! what days you going to be playing late night this week?

The mine was dark, and cold air rushed from its opening. The day had moved to twilight, barely illuminating the sparse forest where he was walking. Frowning slightly, Willel looked at the yellowish orange glow on the horizon. He was supposed to be in Goldshire at sundown to meet with the Marshal, but that was going to have to wait. He had been through this area a number of times but had never noticed this before. Curiousity overwhelmed him, and he waved the torch into the opening. The air pouring from the opening buffeted the flame, but it was still sufficient to light the first few meters of the entrance. He stepped in.

His initial impression was something of disappointment. There was not much to this cave, he noted. Well, nothing more than any other cave he had ventured. Still, he had a feeling within his gut that something was here, and that provided him with the desire to go further into its depths. After a few minutes, he noticed something curious. The walls of the cave had changed their hue. Rather than a dark blueish-gray, they had begun to lighten to a yellowish-gray. Air whipped through his scruffy beard, and he noted that it no longer felt cold. Instead, it warmed his skin slightly. It almost felt pleasing, familiar.

He spotted something different ahead. Instead of a dark circle, he noted something start to take form in the middle. As he approached, he squinted, trying to make it out. Something didn't feel quite right, and he noted that the air had grown cold once again. In front of him were two openings. The one to his left, he noted, was dark with the blueish walls and cold air pouring forth. To his right, the walls returned to their yellowish color, and he felt warm air coming from it.

He sat a moment at the split and pondered the choice. Should he proceed to the dark, forboding path? He knew well that rewards were the product of sacrifice, and the path to the left certainly appeared as such. He looked to the opening on the right. It looked much easier, and it beckoned him. After a long moment of contemplation, he stood and made his choice.

---

The next few days at the Goldshire Inn were nothing out of the ordinary. People came and went, but a new paper appeared among the wanted posters. A closer inspection of this one noted the rough drawing of a tall, dark skinned, balding, human male. It read:

To all persons of Goldshire and the greater Elwynn Forest area:

Be advised. A new Paladin recruit to the Alliance forces
has not reported for duty in some time. He is known as, "Willel,"
and, if you are to come across this person or the remains of
any Alliance soldier, report to Marshal Dugan or any
guard at once. If this human is located as part of your
information, you will be rewarded.

We hope that his disappearance is only temporary and that
he will return to our ranks once he is found.

I played for a little bit last night, tho I logged at around 730ish my time. Been coming down with a cold or something since like... a week ago sunday or monday (feels like its settling in my chest today... hope its not that broncitus shit)... Gotta work 2night & 2morrow night, but I usually log on for an hour or two after work / before bed. Dunno what days off you have anymore Cray, so not sure if you'll be around when I get home or not. I'll be on for a bit on thursday night too... as I don't have to work my night job then & friday is a holiday for us (tho I'll be right shitfaced friday night & not at the 'puter).

I managed to do the axe quest in red hills or whatever its called... but, I pretty much just had to sit around and pick off the orcs one by one (dying every 15 minutes or so on average Id redkon). I've gotten more random invites to groups in that area than any other of late. Pretty much tho, I can't just walk into whatever the hell they are guarding. Where the road forks, you can head to the right where they're around that tower thing, but I didnt do too much of that. Mostly I stuck to the main road where they spawn in small numbers. Also, if you take the left fork, it goes into the hills where there are a few others you can pick off one at a time.

As far as tailoring goes... the only schems I've gotten of late for my level are off the npc vendor in the mage district. I hear yah tho on the training cost thing. I've still got at least 1 more skill I can learn for a new spell, but its cost is around 30s... All the rest of my skills this set were like 17s each... so needless to say my 60s went up in smoke.

Im still needing to do that elite quest in Westfall yet too... but I think thats gotta be about the last one I need there, not sure. I've done a couple other low 20 lvl quests in the Redrige Mtns... prolly you can do those at your level... ones like killing the dragon welps & the redridge brutes & mystics...

btw, Ive just stumbled upon a cool map thing at wow.warcry.com (go there & click on atlas). For example: http://wow.warcry.com/index.php/content/atlas/redridge.php

LOL Cray... Ziberish... thats pretty clever.

Actually, Zib, I reckon that WoW could make for some interesting story telling... but the sad thing is, now Im kinda curious as to what happens to poor ole willel... LOL. Well, I know for both of us, we'd be happy to see you join us anytime.

(btw, I dunno how you can go back and play SWG anymore... with that interface it feels so clunky to me now, hard for me to steer about n all).

Hehe, Ziberish. That's me. :)

But, ya pegged me on that one, Cray. I've decided to hold off billing my WoW account for the time being. Got Rise of Nations and Call of Duty for Christmas not to mention my SWG characters that I'm still pushing forward. I need to forego WoW for the time being as that's just too many games to juggle given my limited time to play, especially since I gave my wife the Sims 2 for Christmas. She's addicted so I lost access to the other PC for the time being. :-/

I'll be back in WoW someday. :) To be honest, the new avenues to write about was one of the things that pushed me over the edge to buy it in the first place. :D

eyelleye
12-28-2004, 02:00 PM
Well, probably smart to manage your time more efficiently there Zib. Least you got enough of a taste of WoW to have an idear of what the game is like.

Perhaps we can hook up online & play some RoN one of these days. It'd be good to play that game again... havent played an RTS online since... ohh... SWG came out. I need to pickup the expansion for RoN tho... been on my list of things that just aint done yet.

I had picked up that Sims 2 when it came out and played it for all of like 6 hours maybe. Ended up giving it to my buddies wife for christmas (gave him KotoR II & burnout3 for xbox)... I dunno, maybe its a chick thing, but I cant seem to get into those sims games. Ive still got the first one too & got bored with it as well.

Ok back to WoW, what type of skems you been picking up in the mage distract Eye? Is it the ones from the journyman trainer there? Or merchants selling the skems. I got the 8 slot bag off a merchant in Redridge, might go to duskshire to see if they have any there for sale. Untill then I'll just beat up on the Orcs till I get me 10 axes.
Might not be on tonight, worked last night and haven't slept yet (going to after I finish this) and have to work tonight. So probably be on Thursday, going to spend wednesday with the girl and friday I should be on from after I wake up till 9/10 oclock at night as usual. As far as other skems I got... I dont recall atm. I got my 8 slot bag skem off of the other tailor merch... think there was a trainer there... dunno for sure, still at work, but Im pretty sure thats where I shopped. =)

Eye have you done the shadowpaw pendents yet? Took me a good 2 hours and about 50 kills to get the ten pendents, but they also drop quite a bit of wool. Oh we got to figure out when we are going back for that VC guy. If we could get a paladin or a warrior and a priest we probably could take that place out in an hour or 2. Also when we go back there got 3 other quest that have to do with the dead mines as well, so e could end up getting another lvl out of there when everythings said and done.
Oh might want to see if we can find a map of the interior of the dead mines as well.

Got to Lvl 23 tonight, so hopefully I should be able to finish the poisen quest tommarrow. Once I get that the Deadmines with there LvL 17 and 18 elites should be piece of cake.
Oh.. there are alot of freaking night elves in the freaking game!!!!!! I took a trip over to Night elf land and dear god if I didn't see 50 or so of those purple freaks at the habor on there side. The harbor isn't even a major city and they very like bunny rabbits every where. I used to laugh when they had that WoW census up and said the horde was out numbered. Now I belive it cause severyone and there brothers sisters roomate is a freaking night elf.
But I think I'm going to start just camping the deadmines out for Xp and shit to sell. So lets try to get that VC quest done sometime.
OH and one last note.... to all you ppl that got drunk and had a good time new years and new years eve.... I Say -EDIT!!!!!!- you!!!! I was sober, at work with a massive tooth ache. So needless to say I going scrouging next holiday session.

Got my poisen quest done finally, its evil how much damage I can do per second now. Also took a trip into the dead mines today, I figure if we can get a healer and a tank with us then we should have no problems. Was with a Lvl 20 paladin and Lvl 20 warrior. They weren't the best of compainions, but once they started to lissen to me and not just go running after stuff, we did all right. But if we can get a healer and another tank, we shouldn't have a problem getting through there.
What Lvl is Dvan agian? I think I'm going to start working on Hagen agian, so I figured it would be Varrada and Jalian going through the Van Cleef quest the first time, then once I get hagen to about LvL 20+ we can go in with Dvan and him.

eyelleye
01-03-2005, 11:28 AM
I played Dvan yesterday and took him from lvl 16 to lvl 18... get my ass kicked more often with him than I do with Jalian, but... I dunno. In hind-sight I should have done a paladin rather than a Warrior I think... but oh well... Im not in the mood to re-roll that character (and I've enough slots still I could just do a pally one of these days). I picked up guns last night with ole Dvan and played around in the forest til I got it to bout 80 or so... was doing that and unarmed (as every time I go against those damn defias idiots they disarm me).

Havent done deadmines or VC with either of my chars (not sure I have the deadmines quest actually)... so... hopefully we'll hook up one of these nights and get that shit done! '-)

Cray
01-04-2005, 04:17 AM
The deadmine quest are the Defais brotherhood quest, except for the 2 minners quests ( a dwarf in SW gives these two) and a Gnome gives a quest for it as well. Both the Dwarf and the Gnome are in the Dwarven sector of SW, dwarfs in an inn and the gnomes out in the center next to the train entrance.

Got to Lvl 24 today and got enchanting up to Lvl 80. Nothinging really cool in enchanting yet, but I can increase ,its either your bracers or chest piece, with a + 15 to health. Also got a couple of +1 to strenght and a + 1 to stamina I think. Agility will be the next one, but I don't get that till I get 100 in enchanting. Oh and the miner quests are... I don't want to say easy cause lvl 17 and 18 elites aren't easy, but it can be done as long as you only take one on at a time. Oh and those zombies have a nasty spell. Its a sixty second timer from when the spell hits you, it counts down and does 360 shadow damage to you when its done. This is not a DoT, this is a strait 360 shot. So after you kill one you have to hope to god you have over 360 hit points or find a comfertable place to die, gets annoying after a while.

Oh and I found the Auction house in Iron forge... Dear god Someone please STOP ME!!!!!! Its like ebay so needless to say I broke and I better win those damn weapons or I'll be going unarmed for a while.... yeah I got some really cool armor atm though so thats a good thing right

Hey Eye, you ran into Stiches yet? He actualy does just walk around Duskwood killing anything in site. Case in point, I was walking down the road from darkshire to raven hill and I saw him coming down the road. So I stealth myself and walk off to the side of the road and up a hill abit. I stopped when I noticed he turned my direction. Figuring since he hadn't charged me that I was good right.... Apparently not, even with being a lvl 27 now and having a K of health he still pummeld me to death in about 5 hits. He's not a quest boss is he? Cause if you thought the Deadmines and the guys in there were annoying, this guy makes them look like a care bear squad.

Ive seen stiches before... he came into darkshire one night/afternoon and about 20+ of us went in on him... still took like 3-5 minutes to kill him & lots of skeletons later. Kinda crazy.

Anyways back to WoW. It's funny the VC quest now shows up as grey to me (meaning the quest is way benieth my character lvl) But I still can't beat that Ogger by myself. Since you beat it, after you get to the dock where the ships in harbor, whos left to fight after the big Tauren ( Smithy I think and his 2 BG) besides VC himself?
Oh and I haven't finished all his quests yet But does Ambercrombie bring forth Stiches? As far as doin somethin with herbalism... I read in the manual that enchanting requires use of some herbs as well as potions... forget what skill that is off the top of my head, but if you're going to do herbalism, that's what Id recommend.

Cray
01-17-2005, 02:20 AM
Really? I know talioring has somethings that requiers potions and pearls, atleast as far as I have gone with it, also starting to requier some leather componits ( heavy leather for the 10 slot silk bags). But I haven't run across enchanting needing anything except for a shadow gem to create the silver runed rod. Then agian I still have about 20 points or so till I'm an expert enchanter, so it might change on skills that require over 150 enchanting.
Oh did I send you some gloves that gave a bonus to fire damage spells? I don't have them on me any more and I forget what I did with them. So did I send them to you or who knows what I did in my probably impaired state

Oh I guess I'll go herbilisum and Alchemy with Ravenwing, got him to lvl 6 today, probably be working on him till you get Jalian into the Dun Modr elite quests. Took Varada over to Kalindor to do this missing diplomat quest. Its not turning red on me but every other quest I try and pick up is. So needless to say, I'm kinda stuck in a WTF phase with him now. Probably fly him back to SouthShore to do the missions there, atleast there orange instead of red.

I have a friend that works for a website that sells games and he's managed to get me a Euro Beta Key :)
Downloading it now from a secret place so I'm getting a good speed. Still, a 2 Gig download :( Should be playing it by tomorrow night or maybe Wednesday. Can't wait, hope they release it soon though!

Cray
01-18-2005, 06:39 AM
I got a question, why do they need a Euro Beta test? I could understand maybe a Stress Test to see how the servers they created over there will hold up, but a beta? Is it really that hard to rewrite code so that the Npcs speak German, Italian or Spanish ( Yes I know I left out the french, but why anyone would care about them is beyond me). Just curiouse why Europe would need its own beta when the game is running as smoothly as can be expected for the first couple months of a new MMO. Hell I don't know why they have made you wait this long for WoW James. But I guess england gets screwed since you have to wait on versions for your crazy niebors over there.
Either way, prepair for long sleepless nights, cause crack isn't even as addicting as this game. That and this game is actually, dare I say it, fun to play.

eyelleye
01-18-2005, 10:40 AM
They need the euro beta test for the languages most likely. Being that there are a number of different ones over there in Europe, that'll make for a fair number of code changes Id reckon. For the most part, most MMOs developed in the US have a slight lag time before they are released elsewhere. Thats so they can make em localized, which takes time & testing. Makes perfect sense to me tho.

Far as the gloves, dunno where you sent em, but don't think it was to me. I dont remember what gloves I have atm tho... so you might have. Got Jal about 3/4 the way through lvl 28 yesterday. Been snowing like a mother here, so havent had as much time as I would have liked this holiday weekend. My folks are out of town, so I have to take care of their place... rough guess we have about 3 ft of snow on the ground now & another 1.5 expected by tomorrow. Least I dont have a bus yard to worry about anymore... I got to sleep in til 6am this morn & it was nice. =)

James
01-18-2005, 12:03 PM
Localisation is unfair when we speak the same bloody language as you guys!
The same happens with games developed in Japan, esp ones from Nintendo. 9/10 times games are released in the US first.

eyelleye
01-18-2005, 02:49 PM
Yeah well, the devs consider you a part of Europe. From their standpoint, its easier to localize it for release across europe, rather than just give the UK the american version. And as far as Japanese games go... a lot of em don't even make it to the US at all...

Either way, fair or not, its probably somewhat of a logistics problem.

Cray
01-19-2005, 08:41 AM
It does make sence that Japan gives us games before you boys across the pond though James. I mean its not you ever dropped a nuke on them. They just don't want to piss us off agian.
If the gloves aren't red with a black outline of a star on them then those aren't the gloves I was looking for Eye. Who knows, the way I've been running out of enchanting componits latly, I might of sacked them. Either way it just annoying that I can't remember what the hell I did with them.

Eye you read the new write up about battle fields yet? Talk about a reason to grind to lvl 60. I can see these areas being horded by Guilds though. Will be intresting to see how Blizzard does this, so the average joe that doesn't want to join any of the guild that are out there, can still partake of the Battle Grounds.

eyelleye
01-19-2005, 12:19 PM
Didnt get a chance to look last night... was a 14 hour day for me so off to the sack I was when I finally got home.

Nope, havent read the thing on the battlefields yet, but quite frankly I dont care. Not going to grind this game either way. I like doin quests and makin a little progress here and there... Dont want WoW to turn into another SWG (tho I know of some folk who are doing just that... ignoring quests in favor of grinding because its "quicker").

Cray
01-20-2005, 01:02 PM

As far as the quests go, I recommend:

Might have a little army for us Eye. Buddy of mine a school ( the one that works at gamestop) Finaly picked up WoW. Apparently him and everyone he works with plays on Dragonblight. So needless to say, Probably going to help them powerlevel so they can be of some use to us.

Hmm... might be worth forming a guild just for the ability to BS at that point then... hehe

Cray
01-22-2005, 11:11 AM
Ok... Lets humor the idea that we want to form a guild now. WHat we going to call ourselves? Go back to the old fave Obsidian Guard? Or Crimson Blades? Or.... Hmm ok maybe I haven't thought about it enough.

eyelleye
01-23-2005, 01:13 AM
well... for how guilds work in WoW... its mostly a sort of chat thing and a way to hook up with ppl. I managed to get sucked into xtreme alliance as a friend of mine is in it... but quite frankly, its meaningless to me as I dont know anyone in it... all it seems to be used for is a nice chat channel and thats about it. If we've got 10 ppl, I say what the hell... why not? Crimson Blades aint a bad idea actually... I kinda like it... got a ring to it.

Anyways, nothing we have to do... just something to keep in mind. I think we can keep it a coalition of friends more than anything within WoW... If we end up needing some form of communication, I still have a 2nd vbulletin license laying around... I dunno, just something to think about buddy. =)

Cray
01-23-2005, 04:28 AM
Ten ppl huh... Well lets start looking into it. Atm I'm more or less a hermit in game, so I don't have any ppl saved in my friends list besides you, Zib and my buddy from school. Maybe I'll start being more socialable and start finding canidates.
Don't want to turn it into what we were running with OG/CG or Order. Don't care to have it that strucktured, atleast not yet. Maybe when BF come online and the Horde vs Alliance action takes more of a meaning besides Elite highend raid content, we could step it up towards that. But that would be down the line. Keeping it to a small well knit group instead of those "Oh we have to be the biggest/uberest" blah blah blah type of crap. Do you know off hand what it takes to form a guild/clan in WoW besides the ten ppl signing the charter?

eyelleye
01-23-2005, 04:36 AM
No idea what all it takes to form a guild other than the 10 ppl signing the charter and some bux... outside of that, no idea... dont think much else really, cept for the tabbard.

As far as making an uber guild... not interested. All I was thinking was a guild of a group of friends who like to BS n whatnot. Quite frankly, at this point, I dont think either of us want something as structured as what we had before. If anything, its just more of a loose coalition of friends. Perhaps as time goes on it could become a little more structured, but Im not really interested in that right now... thank god these xtreme alliance ppl arent structured... or at least structured much... Id /gquit so fast its not even funny.

Cray
01-23-2005, 10:32 AM
Well let me talk to my buddy from school and see if he'll join, maybe get a couple of ppl from his work too. Stoker comes on Dragonblight every once and a while. Ah is Zibs account still active? And well yeah thats all I have for ppl that might want to join. You had your own little groupies there for a while Eye, think they would be intrested?
Guess I'll start asking around, see if we can get ten ppl or not... Oh and if anyone does a run by sign my charter to me agian, I'm going to lose my freaking mind  Then giving me crap cause I didn't sign there charter. Yeah know an introducton is ussualy in order before you try to shove something down my throat.

eyelleye
01-23-2005, 05:11 PM
yeah, and if you sign the charter, you're in the guild... drives me nuts. I got tired of being asked to be in a guild so much that I finally gave in... but, I dont do much in it except bs every once in a while, so... no biggie. Dunno if zib's still active or not... think he closed it down so he could give more money to SOE. Speaking of SOE, I need to log in to galaxies and close down 2 of my accounts... save myself 30 bucks a month.. lol.

Cray
01-24-2005, 01:58 AM
You closing both your acounts Eye? Or wait closing down Camber and Sera huh? But Eye Jtls only 14 bucks now at Best Buy, you know SOE's doing well if after 3 months they can't give away there expantion for a game thats BY THERE OWN STATEMENTS DOING BETTER then ever. So do you think they will scuttle that ship before they ever get to a combat revamp or GCW?
Anyways back to WoW. Didn't get to talk to my buddy from school today, was busy tring to get new tires for my truck since I got 3 flates atm. Yeah when my luck gets going it likes to go for broke. So hopefully I'll get intouch with him tommarrow. Oh almost got Barthus talked into WoW. I heard Blizzard pulled all its copies from stories untill they fix there server problems, so not sure if or when I'll get him to come to the darkside.

eyelleye
01-24-2005, 11:40 AM
Best Buy? Whats that? Besides, why do I want to give SOE more money for a game I dont even play? No the 2 accounts I'll be closing are nimer & sera. Both are non jtl accounts & my other 2 (camber & eye) are prepaid whereas those two are by the month. Now, as for the game doing better than ever... ok sure, whatever. Im sure their subscription numbers back that up.

What Ive read is that Blizz hasnt had another production run of WoW since before christmas, not that they pulled coppies from the shelves. I actually find that more likely... that they let what was produced run out of stock versus pulling it. Right now, good luck on finding one.

3 flat tires? Who'd you piss off?

01-24-2005, 02:29 PM
http://www.cosmosui.com/

Thats my UI Mod of choice... so many options, its unreal. Just dont run the Player survey thing... u know, where it tells you what players are what, in what level range, etc... it will take control of your account for like 10 minutes sending out /who's like you wouldnt believe.

Outside of that, its cool. Lots of options.

Quote from Eye's news feed thread from the President of Blizzard:

"The boat between Menethil Harbor and Auberdine was disappearing intermittently, dropping players into the ocean and crashing the servers. Passengers on this boat who were disconnected and tried to reconnect would crash the server yet again when trying to log on. "

LOL! That would suck! The boat disappears and you fall in the water and die. I'm cracking up at that thought. :D

Still, I like how they're giving you upfront messages like this. Who's the president of SOE? Yeah. Exactly.

eyelleye
01-26-2005, 06:28 PM
Well, some things they are more open about and others the SWG devs are more open. One thing I do like about the SWG community is how much the devs interact with the community. That leads to problems sometimes tho as I dont think they stick to their guns enough about some things. Too many cooks spoil the broth, imho.

Back on the subject of Guilds Eye. Talking to my buddy from school, His manager wants to start a guild. Can't remeber exactly what he wants to call it, something about Drunks though. So I figuared we would fit right in.Oh and he wants to get the tabard with 2 mugs on it, I can already see the shenanigans already.
Going to try to talk to them a bit more when I get home from work tonight, But if I do deside to join and you wanted to come too, we would be the highest levels in the guild. My buddies Manager has a lvl 32 palidan and his lvl 18 hunter that he was working on the other noght when I meet him. Just something to think about.

02-03-2005, 09:33 PM
Yeah, I dunno atm. Im back in that xtreme alliance guild for the time being... will see how that goes for a bit I think. I mostly just bs in the guild chat & thats bout it... my current thoughts is I'd stick it out here for a month or two & then see what happens. They were kind enough to bring me back in & I talked with the head for a bit... or at least one of the heads.

Im guessin it might be a bit before things iron out on your end, so... no worries. Still, open to hangin with folks or whatever comes about.

And on to the other question that belongs in the WTF! catigory. 90 gold, 90 FUCKING GOLD!!!! is what it is going to cost me to get trained to ride what ever, 18 gold for the riding, Then 72 for the mount. HOW THE FUCK do ppl affored that when they hit lvl 40? Them most I have had at one time has been 15 gold, 90 fuckin gold would be like waking up to a blow job and a beer, given to you by a Supper Modle of coarse. So yeah kinda pissed. I don't even have the foggiest on where I would want to farm to make up that much coin. Oh and besides Mages, I now hate Palidin cause they get theres for free. Its a quest they pick up at lvl 40, freaking bastards!!!

eyelleye
02-13-2005, 09:16 PM

Cray
02-13-2005, 11:03 PM
Just had a Idea, every class should have a mission or quest to pick up there first mount, for example:
Well Warlocks and Palidins are already covered.
Rouges should have to venture into enemy contraled land and steal themselves a horse to excape.
Mages should be able to get a quest to create some type of elemental mount.
Warriors.. well ok maybe I have to put mor thought into this.
Hunters should just be able to tame some high level creature and get an ability to turn it into a mount.
Druids already have an abilty to turn into a creature that runs as fast as a mount, so there covered I guess.
Priests... ah no one plays a priest anyways so who cares.
Think I covered them all, think this proposal is good enough to send to blizzard :p

eyelleye
02-14-2005, 11:08 AM
Sure, but they'll never use it.

The reason these companies wont take suggestions is that if they implimented something like that, then you could come back and claim you came up with it & that they should be paying you, etc...

www.mysupersales.com has WoW currency for sale, but I think it was like 5 gold for $20 or something. Can't recall.

Sadly, I must admit that I've plopped RL cash for 4 million on Kettemoor and 5 on Infinity. I see it as a valid expense as it's either that or go thru days of mindless grinding just to be able to afford armor. Ugh. I'm not that patient.

But hey what days do you have off now? Finaly made my way to the Scarlet Monestary, but couldn't go in cuase I wasn't part of a group . From what I saw most of the mobs were lvl 33 to 35 in there, so it should be a cake walk. I just need some one crazy enough to go in with me. Oh we might need a third or fourth. If you don't have the monestary quest yet, I can run you through about getting it, but you and me should be able to handle everything in there except the last bossman and one of the other bosses in there. The Last Bossman is a Lvl 42 elite that reserects and clones himself, so you have to kill him basicaly 3 times. Also I think one of the other bosses in there is a lvl 40 elite, so he might be a bit tuff. But either way I'd like to try to clear that place out, at the very least there are some ery good drops that come out of there.

Alliance Command, Stormwind

------------

Rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated...
