It's me Reddington, aka Mitglied. I'm coming back, or trying to, to SWG. Problem is I gave away my reg #. Eye, could you contact Gunner Bod in-game and have him e-mail me? I can't find any way to contact Gunner who would know who is using my account. Just give him my e-mail if you could. Thx. reddington17@yahoo.com

I'll see about doing a search for this fellah when I get home tonight. What guild was he in? If they've a website, you might try contacting him through there? Either way, I'll see about getting him an in-game email 2night.

I gave the info to Gunner Bod cause he was the leader of vadr. I'd think a member or former member of vadr would have it but Gunner would probable know who has it. They had a website on msn but I can't remember it I;ll look for that though. I appreciate any help you can offer. Great to talk to you again. It's been far too long. :)

I found Gunner's ID page. You can send him a PM. I can't because I can't get a subsciption so I can't post. Thx again.

'-) Yeah, been playin a bit of the JtL beta myself lately... not much on live, but I'll see if I cant send the fellah an in-game email... hopefully y'all can get back in contact.

Reddington
09-23-2004, 09:09 PM
Certainly hope so. One of the main reasons I wanted to get back into SWG is because of my experience with you and the rest of the former OG members. Talk about a good group of players. Always having fun but never taking it outta hand. I really hope to get back in and hook up with Cray, Swiss (if he's playing) Indy, and all the rest, ya, you too :)

09-23-2004, 09:16 PM
Sent an in-game email to him, lettin him know you was trying to get in touch with him in regards to your account & gave him your email address. Hopefully you'll hear something, but... dunno... The forums page said he was online, however SWG said he wasnt... in which case he could be in beta (and therefore not checking into LIVE very often)... I'll wait a day or two to see if either you or I hear from him & if not I'll try a PM through the SWG forums. Hopefully you'll be able to get your account back. '-)

Quick query: Do you make good money as an architect Eye? I'm thinking about using the enormous amounts of free time I have to make credits in-game and then sell them for real cash. I found this site My Super Sale (http://www.mysupersales.com/MG/curbuy.asp?gid=3) selling 10 mil. credits would make $80 in RL. Seeing as I'm 16 w/o a job right now I'd like this much better than having a minimum wage afterschool job. Also I'm getting my driver's license soon so a good job would be nice. Don't need lots of money but having some would be nice. And I'd be getting money for playing SWG! Or would a weaponsmith/armorsmith/tailor be better for amassing huge wealth. Making 10 mil crs a week would be a good jump over the weekly income I was getting last fall. Any help is very much welcome.

eyelleye
09-24-2004, 05:29 PM
weaponsmith/armorsmith seem to be making good moolah. Also I expect that the space ship crafting profession thing, when JtL goes live, will probably make a good bit of money. Architects on Tarq dont do so well, but that is due in part to the cheap bastards that make up the community... most archs seem to undersell their stuff & have since launch. I make a few things here and a few things there...

btw, did that guy email you yet?

Reddington
09-24-2004, 05:53 PM
Haven't heard anything from Gunner yet. I was gonna make my money making char on Gorath, kauri, or lowca, they have the best prices for credits. My Tarq character will be RP/combat.

eyelleye
09-24-2004, 06:04 PM
Well, their respective economies might be different. Also the prices for credits fluxuate depending on how many are on the market. Credits also get sold on ebay too, so you might have a look there as well... just to get a price gauge together. Quite some time ago I had bought a couple mil credits (glad I did too) for maybe 20 bucks... but prices have gone up considerably since then to the point Im not interested in paying that kinda money for something that'll just disappear...

There are a few credit auction sites out there tho... Id have a gander at em to figure out where you want to create that char. Also, crafting professions require a large time commitment... can be a pain in the buttox, if yah know what i mean. '-)

So then eye, how is JTLS then? Have to say I'll never go back to SWG, even with this expansion. I'm gearing up to stick with EVE in the long run, especially with the Shiva Expansion out sometime November. Also will be getting WoW once it gets a Euopean release.

eyelleye
09-27-2004, 10:07 PM
Well, I always say "never say never..." '-)

Galaxies is improving quite a bit as time goes on. The recent jedi revamp thing has been fairly popular... and supposedly makes it fairly easy to get started on the path. I dunno tho, personally... jedi not really bein my thing n all, but I might make a go at it someday. Not entirely sure what all I can say about JtLs with the NDA n all, but... if you've looked at any of the previews, its pretty much like they say it is. Personally, I think its quite a bit of a hoot and likely I'll be spending most of my time in SWG in space. I left the group of guildies I was with and relocated to a familiar spot on Naboo. Havent spent hardly any time in live since beta started tho... and quite honestly, I havent had a whole hell of a lot of time for that either. Recently picked up Rome: Total War and then Warhammer 40k Dawn of War tonight. Rome is a pretty sweet game if you are into strategy type stuff. Played it for a number of hours on sunday. I played the beta for the warhammer one and found it a lot of fun to play as well... it didnt seem like the same ole same ole RTS. Also logged a number of hours in Doom3, but not finished it yet as it scares the ever livin shit outta me.

I doubt I'll go back to EvE as, quite frankly, I get rather bored with it. On the plus side, its gaining some ground here in the states, but... I, dunno... I just have found it hard to get interested in it or care about what goes on in the world... I did like its style of game-play tho.

As far as WoW is concerned, I played in the stress test here a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I was sick for most of the week it was going on, so I didnt get to spend enough time in it... but quite frankly its the most polished MMO I've seen yet (esp considering its still beta). Not only that, it was a sheer blast to play from the git-go. Highly recommend it. Actually... I recommend reading this column regarding WoW: http://www.gamespy.com/articles/547/547887p1.html The author pretty much nailed the experience as far as I'm concerned...

Anyways, good to hear you're still alive my friend...

James
09-28-2004, 06:24 AM
Alive and (relativley) well :)
Found a job after about 3 months of unemployment, and start on the 11th Oct.
Can't wait. It's sooooo depressing having no job, no money, no friends.

eyelleye

Know how you feel, been there done that, sucks.

Whats the new job going to be? Not workin at the veggie plant again I hope... hehe... '-)

James
09-28-2004, 04:38 PM
Hehe nope. Our town has had a new shopping precinct open up recently with a bunch of new shops. The one I got a job at is a department store called Next. They mainly sell clothes.
It's only part time hours, and it's 6am-12, but it's better than a kick in the nuts :)
I'll probably get another job too, or see about getting as many extra hours as possible.
Then I wanna *really* think about what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I think not having a goal is worse than not being able to achieve one.
For some reason I feel like settling down and starting a family...but there's a part of my brain that still sees sense and bitch slaps me down and tells me I'm only 21 for Christs sake.

eyelleye
09-28-2004, 06:00 PM
Well... here's a bit of advice from an older sort... I'd wait to settle down for a bit if I was j00. Certainly I'd wait til 25, if not push it to more like 28ish. Not that you'll necessarily regret it or something, but you might... Just breaking out into ur 20s... I dunno, you're still free to do what you like n all. Best to get it out of your system then, and settle down later. Of course I was given the same advice once and I, of course, said ah bullshit, Im ready, blah blah blah... and to this day, I still think I was ready. Problem was, relationships take 2... I suppose there are some who settle down early and are perfectly happy n all that shit, but for the majority... folks just need time to be young.

On the bright side of things... I bet there'll be a decent opportunity or two to meet some hunnies workin in a dept store (unless it be one that caters to old foggies... but I cant imagine that being the case when its called "next")... Might be just the thing you need. =) Either way, should help with the fundage situation for one... and give you some time to just exist. I wouldnt worry about figuring out what you want to do with your life... after a while, it'll come to yah... some things, when they happen... you just know.

enough sappy/serious shit for one day. =)

Well Red... got word back from Gunner.

Apparently your account went to a guy that joined the guild just to get the account and then cut n run. Apparently he's a real dick or something according to gunner. He says "Tell Mit that all he has to do is email sony that he forgot his password, they will send him a new one and then he can log & reroll account and make him whatever he wants to."

Personally, Im not entirely sure that'll work, but its worth a shot.

Cray
10-08-2004, 09:00 PM
I remembered my freaking password!!!!
Anyways, glad to hear your back Red, if you ever go running around Tarq agian send me an email. I won't be around till running around in game till nov 1 ( had the same problem James had of being out of work) but thats all fixed now and I should be back in the swing of things soon.
Ok officially hijacking threed!
What server were you on for the stress test for WoW Eye? Should of said something but I was running around Monaroth and ah nass something or other. I'd have to say its the best game I've ever played and its still in closed beta none the less. Hope to see WoW make SoE's EQ2 flop big time ( Yes I'm still in my SoE must die mood). Oh and what races did you play. I started a Orc warlock, got tierd of him fast then went for an undead rouge. I'll probably end up as the undead rouge when the game goes live, But I'm getting off the subject. The emotes in the game kick ass, especialy the /dance one. Thats my question, the Orcs do MC Hammers dance from his one hit wonder video and the undead and a bunch of mosh pit metal heads, What do the others races get jiggy to?
Well anyways I guess I should get back to work ( I'm in class right now, could you tell I'm boared?) Glad to have you back Red hope to see you and alot more of the OG come back for JTLs.
Oh and Eye is that newest member the Seken from the OG? Just curious.

eyelleye
10-09-2004, 12:45 AM
Didna know you played in WoW... of course I was sick for most of that week so only got to play a few days. I played as a human & a dark elf I think... the human dance was pretty cool... did some mc hammer shit and a bunch of other stuff. I was laughin my ass off the night I found that (and freakin ppl out in the cave thingy I was in).

Wow is by far and away the most polished MMO Ive ever seen & it was a real blast to play. I can see it getting boring later on down the line... but, for the most part I really enjoyed it (which to really enjoy playing a game these days is kinda rare for me)... totally looking forward to when that releases... & thanks to the wise folk of blizzard opting to go with MCS, I'll only have to buy one copy for a bit... if not ever.

As far as I know, JtLs is set to launch this month I think... 10/26/04 according to gamespot. If you come back on the first, shouldnt be too bad really... hell, you'll probably just be getting your game in the mail or something. Im taking off for a week in the early middle part of November to go do some bambie killin... so overall Im not so worried about when I get it. That and Rome Total War is consuming most of my free time atm...

Not sure on the Seken thing... just dunno... I dont do a lot of updates around here atm... so... who knows. Im about done getting my place all fixed up n whatnot, so when that happens I'll have my sundays free to do whatever the hell I want... which I plan to do some cleanup around the site here a bit... lots of shit on my to do list and not so much of it getting done. Oh well... '-)

Reddington
10-09-2004, 01:20 PM
Well I pretty much gave up on SWG. I couldn't get back in and now I'm too busy with school, R:TW (which is awsome) and now Fable which I got yesterday.

James
10-09-2004, 02:58 PM
Multiple Characters eh? Do you know how many?
(BTW I've been on the Shiva test server for EVE, and the new UI is bloody great :) )

eyelleye
10-10-2004, 01:43 AM
Well, I wouldn't worry so much about SWG Redd... quite frankly, its not going anywhere. My opinion to anyone thats left is... come back when you're ready, not before. They still have more shit to fix, in my mind, before the game is ready for the masses again. The combat balance still needs to take place as well as the GCW fixes; until then... I still recommend to folks I know: "hold off." I love galaxies, but its a love/hate relationship... in some ways, its how I felt about UO many many years ago. Of course, it was much worse for me when I tried to pick it up years later... the game had changed so much that an old timer like me couldnt adapt & it was just no damn fun anymore. Galaxies might get that way someday, but, I still love and hate the game.

EvE on the other hand... I just hate it, LOL. Actually, thats not true. I love & hate it too. Shiva, from what Ive read, looks cool n all, but... its difficult for me to get into that game much as I want to. I dunno... no MMO has come anywhere close to what Im looking for in one... but of the ones Ive played, WoW comes closest. As far as how many characters they are going to have... not sure atm. Last I heard was somewhere between 3 & 5 I think.

Anyways, just managed to pickup Star Wars Battlefront for the PC 2night, so Im off to give that a go. I wanna pickup Fable for xbox, but alas... I cannnot find it in this damn town. Also wanna pickup burnout3, but its a nogo too... oh well, thats why the invented the internet, right? '-)

eyelleye

Just a quick note regarding SW: Battlefront... Played it for quite a bit off and on yesterday. Single player is... hmm, well the bots arent all that great, but they aren't all that bad either. Multiplayer is fun, but I seem to have issues connecting to servers. Quite frankly, the interface for network (internet via gamespy) sucks. That said, its an absolute blast to play. I was in many battles that coulda been taken right out of the movies, with guys on either side of me, blaster fire & smoke all around... a couple of battles last night reminded me of the imperials boarding of the Tantive IV at the begining of episode IV. While I know this wont happen in SWG as its twitch based... its still exciting and I wish something like it could happen. Highly recommend picking this one up. =)

eyelleye
10-12-2004, 11:04 AM
A quick update regarding the interface for SW:Battlefront's internet play. Works much much better to launch gamespy arcade first & use it to browse for online games. I dont know why they couldnt have better leveraged that interface for the game... but either way, thats the way I recommend anyone who gets the game to look for net games to play.

Is that playing it on the computer or one of the consoles Eye? Oh and do you have to pay a monthly fee to play online like all the other MMO's? I'm guess not but just wondering.
Oh has anyone ever played Planetside? A couple guys at work play it and it looked kinda intresting. Don't know if it will play on dial up that well, but might get into a first person shooter for shits and giggles. Oh and next time your on SW:Battlefront ask if anyone is playing by dial up and how excrutiating it is for them. If its tolerable I might pick it up for the comp instead of the PS2. Either way Got to find something to do besides school, work and drink beer. Maybe I'll learn hwo to siphen gas. At 2.29 per gallion, I'm going to start draining shoppers tanks at the mall. It's a yuppie mall so they can afford to get more ;)

eyelleye
10-15-2004, 11:13 PM
Well, there is a PC version of SW: Battlefront as is several consol versions. I tried the demo for xbox (came on the 4th star wars bonus dvd)... and the control scheme sucked hind-tit as far as Im concerned. I picked up the pc version. As battlefront isnt an MMO, there is no monthly fee to play online. You use gamespy to play online... and if you are a fileplanet subscriber... you dont have to deal with the ads in gamespy... if you aren't... well, then you just have to view some adds. Small trade off as far as Im concerned.

I heard planetside sucked. Personally, most of the FPS games out there have free multiplayer. I cant say Id want to pay for an MMO version of that... esp since Im not all that big on FPSs in the first place.

Considering I play from AK on other servers, you should be able to play via dialup. Worst case, you can play against the bots solo. I end up doing that a fair bit anyways, cuz I suck... LOL.

Another game I got recently and been playin the last couple nights is Burnout3... what an absolute blast. I got it for xbox, but I know there is a playstation variant out too. Pretty much the point of that is to crash into the other cars... in fact, one of the modes is to cause as big a wreck as you can. Perfect game for gettin shitfaced to, imho. =) Bet it would be a real hoot multiplayer.

Anyways, pick up battlefront for the pc. Totally worth it imho.

Cray

Picked up SW:Battlefront the other day... now I just need a place to set up my computer. Doesn't help that the phone line is in my brothers room, so who knows when I'll beable to get something jurryrigged to be able to play online. But as soon as I do! I'll be running around there and on SWG agian.

EVIL STUPID GAME!!!! I can't get it installed for some reason. Keeps coming up as a catastophic failure. I get four or five preaty blue boxes then it tells me to go screw myself. I have nortans and all my other virus crap turned off, but it doesn't seem to help. Any subjestions or do I have to go back to Best Buy and start handing out kiwi enimas?

eyelleye
10-19-2004, 11:07 PM
Umm... well, a bit more about the error message your getting would be helpful (least give me a place to start). Honestly, it could be a lot of things causing issues... I dunno off the top of my head, went smooth as buttah for me. If I have a clue as to what its puking on, then I might be able to help. '-)

Cray
10-22-2004, 07:51 PM
I figured out what the problem was all by my self ( and Yes I think I deserve a cookie!). I think theres a timing problem with my CDRW. Have had some problems burning CD's and what not with it latly. Have no Idea why but its screwing up on me. So any ways I just threw it into my Dvd drive and it worked with out a hitch. I think the CDRW wasn't picking up the switch to the next disk signal, thats why it was causing the catastophic failure.
So thats up and running, now the next problem, how to get the phone line from the other side of the house to my computer.... Since we are going to have to move before the end of the year anyways, I think I'll just rip it out of the wall till I can put it in my room, so depending on how long that takes me and if the line does travel anywhere near my room is how long it will take me to get back onto SWG and hopefully battlefront.
Oh I think its on the Read me for battlefront, but its says it needs a DLS/cable or better connection to play battlefront. Could there be any truth to that eye? I understand its going to be laggy with dial up ( what isn't?) but I can't belive that there would be no chance of playing it by that means.

eyelleye
10-23-2004, 11:07 PM
Hmm... don't recall seeing it needs dsl/cable for playing. Thats kinda fucked up. Personally, I'd say give it a shot regardless, cant see them requiring that. I know JtL says it requires a broadband (least I think it does)... but, cant see battlefront requiring it. Possible tho. Ohhh... you do know they sell like... 50 foot phone cords right? ;)

Cray
10-25-2004, 07:18 PM
Yeah sending a signal through 50 ft of phone cord won't add to my ping at all, besides then I don't get to destroy anything. You aren't serrious about the broudband for JtL are you? Wait its SoE so I'm surprised they don't make the requirements a T1 or something even more rediculus. Anyways I guess I'll go looking for a phone cord.... I'll have to figure out how to get my dial up modem to work too, back to the drawing board.

eyelleye
10-26-2004, 11:29 AM
Well, come to think of it... that was for the beta... and considering the number of LARGE patches they pushed out to us on a frequent basis... not surprised really. According to EB games the sys reqs are:

Windows 98 SE, Millennium, 2000, and XP; Intel PIII 933 MHz or AMD Athlon 900 MHz; 256 MB RAM; 32 MB 3D Graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L) Capability; PCI, USB or Onboard Audio Device; Quad Speed CD-ROM drive; Keyboard and mouse; 56K modem or faster Internet connection; 1024x768 capable monitor required.

Don't forget to make sure your windows is patched once you get connected. MS has released a few security fixes since you've been offline.

As I recall, I nuked my ignore lists quite some time ago... I just havent logged into the game much of late. Too many things going on, LOL, what else is new eh? 'Bout finished with getting my place all put together... been playin a fair bit of Fable, as well as beta testing Matrix Online (well, starting that anyways)... and now getting set for WoW. Played a fair bit of the JtL beta, but now that its gone live, have hardly logged into game... so little free time as Im gettin set for my vacation next week.

We hear from Berowe every now and again... he's been stationed in Afganistan luckily. Sounds like they keeping him busy, but at least its not a life or death thing every day of the week. Cray's around, tho don't think he's back in the game yet... moved to a new place & hasnt gotten back on the net yet I dont believe (accesses it elsewhere to post once in a while).

I moved back to Naboo for a while, kinda chillin n doin my own thing... still deciding on what I want to do with the game n whatnot. Never was real hot on the jedi bit, so the last few publishes have been worthless as far as Im concerned. Still, JtL adds something new to the mix which I'm happy about. Now I'm hoping they'll give some attention to the professions and rebalancing... hell, it'd be nice for them to actually make smuggler useful now... their excuse that "it'll really have to wait til JtL" has now passed... I wanna smuggle, now let me, damnit! I'm hoping that after the combat re-balance (or whatever they are calling it this week) and the GCW revamp that SWG will really come into its own and become a game I can recommend to my friends. As it stand right now, I still wouldnt recommend it... tho I'll gladly sing the praises of WoW...

Not too interesting in EQ2... I keep reading conflicting things about that one. Halo2 & Half-Life 2 come out this month as well... so many games, so little free time. Ohh... been playing SW: Battlefront too... that games a kick in the pants.

Stay well man... stay well.

Halo2's preaty cool, but I can't get my brother off my Xbox to play the thing.
