When people are sickly-sweet-nice to you, get what they want from you and may or may not use it to leapfrog past you, then turn icy-cold-belligerent to you in future interactions.

Guess some folks view the corporate world as warfare and leave a trail of bodies in their wake. I tend to go with the whole, "Catch more flies with honey," kind of approach. I want people to do things for me because they want to, not just because I have intimitdated them to do so.

ROTFL... in some ways, don't I wish.

The jury I got picked for was a criminal case where the guy tried to set fire to auke bay harbor. I happen to live in auke bay & the fire/emergency vehicles woke me up that night & I watched it. Hense, the defense in the case said "we'd like to relieve Mr. Lindegaard." BAH. I heard on the radio the sumbitch was found guilty. They thought it would be a 3 day trial... didnt even last that long.

Oh well, just means I have to keep calling & going in all damn month until either the month is over or I get picked. Bleh! Like I don't have enough going on this month!

Another moan about jury duty... now that I've served on a panel, I can testify... I think it sucks. We convicted on 2 of 3 accounts on our case, but hung on the other one... mostly the important one. Fucked up man... fucked up... Im goin to go get drunk n be somebody. Peace!

Hehe, thought you were getting out of that duty? :)

My wife got her number pulled but never had to report for duty. They must have settled. Me, if I ever get called, pfft...I don't have time for that. I'll just pretend I'm a racist/bigot against whatever race/creed is involved and kindly get myself excused.

Hehe, with respect to crime and justice, sometimes I think China's got it right. :o

Well, I got out of the first case... knew a little too much about it. Didn't get out of the 2nd one that started monday... was a domestic violence case.

Here, if you don't show up, they send the state troopers to your door. This one I tried to state my opinion clearly enough in the jury selection, hopin that it might get me tossed out, but nada... got picked. Was interesting enough seeing how the court stuff works, but I'd rather not do another domestic violence case personally.
